FAQ's
It’s just a sign, no big deal right?
Not to us it's not. Effective Signage is in almost every case the best possible investment a business can make. Unlike all other forms of advertising signs provide 24 hour per day, 7 days a week permanent, visible advertising. Signage is proven over and over again to be the best return on your marketing dollars for branding and building your company image. Most importantly, a well designed, properly located, sign will portray the positive image you want your company to have. It is so true that first impression of a business is the most important. As a business owner, you don’t want to lose customers on a misperception of the quality and capability of your business based on a simplistic, damaged or just poorly designed sign.
What type of Artwork do I need to provide?
Best case we should have your artwork in a “vector” or ” line” format in order to effectively scale and reproduce it. Files ending in .ai, .psd or .eps or .cdr are vector based. Files such as .jpg, .tif, or .bmp are not vector files; these files can be used, but they must be available in high resolution. Colors should be specified as CMYK, PMS or Pantone.
Artwork can be submitted on a CD ROM or DVD disc, or emailed to [email protected]. If you prefer, we can send you a secure link to upload your files to our servers.
For fine art reproductions, it is best if the original artwork can be available for review and precise digital color matching during the proofing process.
Even if all you have is a low resolution image of your art– we can vectorize almost any artwork, even if we have to re-draw it. We will provide an estimate of any re-drawing that might be needed.
Do you provide proofs before starting work on my sign?
A proof is a way of ensuring that we have created your design accurately and that everything is positioned according to your requirements. Typically, we will produce a proof which will be sent to you online or printed on paper which can be viewed at our office or delivered to you in person. We do not start any project until we have received a signed proof from the customer.
What makes a good sign?
A good sign starts with a quality design from an experienced designer, and then it is crafted from quality materials and installed properly by expert sign installers. The size of your sign will be a function of what is allowed per city code, as well as the aesthetics of your building or location.
The most important thing to be aware of when looking for your sign company is to be sure you are comparing apples to apples. There is a wide range of materials that may look similar initially, but over time some will perform and hold up to the elements much better than others. Also, some sign companies may give you an low initial estimate, with the intent of adding hidden fees and costs as the process progresses. At Dallas Digital Signs & Graphics, we will work with you to create the best sign for your budget, and will advise you on the different options for materials up-front. We also will give you a final estimate before you order, and that estimate will not change (unless the order changes). This way you will know what you are getting and exactly how much it will cost before the project begins.
